Ashley Mixon, Senior Manager of Client Experience at BoomTownROI.com

In addition to creating amazing experiences for BoomTown Clients Ashley has also been coordinating the American Red Cross company blood drives on the BoomTown HQ campus since 2014. In time for our first blood drive of 2023 she offered to share her experience & perspective on the importance of being a regular donor!

Ashley Mixon is no stranger to giving back. In 2017 she was given the Best & Brightest Award from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation raising 7,000 dollars through her personal fundraising efforts. In fact, she has been an essential part of supporting many BoomTownLOVE outreach projects & donation drives in addition to being the team lead for our work with the South Carolina American Red Cross for nearly 10 years.

Each quarter Ashley creates an opportunity for Boomers to donate blood at our HQ office in Charleston, SC either from the Red Cross mobile blood donation bus or inside the BoomTown office itself. She has been encouraging Boomers through innovative wrap around support services that include a catered breakfast or lunch for every donor, so that employees have one less thing to worry about during their work day while they are saving lives! Ashley also launched an incentive program for first time donors & created a BoomTown interoffice competition with prizes for teams with most employee donors whether in Charleston or in any location they may be working in around the world.

She was kind enough to take time out from her busy schedule (as a full time Boomer, mom & wife to BoomTown Director for Strategic Sales, Troy Mixon) to chat with BoomTownLOVE about her experience leading this initiative & why enabling Boomers to donate blood to the American Red Cross is important to her.

I always remember my Dad giving blood at any blood drive our church held and being so young I never knew the impact it could potentially make on someone else's life, so the idea of giving blood has been familiar to me since a little girl.  When the opportunity came at BoomTown to help lead this effort, I was excited to get on board and make an impact on our community and more.  My WHY has always been people - whether it's for my family, my friends or those in my community, I love helping people!  I absolutely LOVE the feeling of being able to help someone else and knowing I've made even a small impact on their life.  Knowing that one single donation can save up to 3 lives is a stat that has always hit home for me and one I continue to reiterate when working to get more donors for each drive.

Knowing that each donation we get for our drives can save 3 lives is an amazing experience in itself.  In addition to that, it has been very rewarding to help guide first time donors to donate and help them through the experience, working to get them coming back for each drive!
